Trending:The Rise Of The Social Media Content Creator For Weddings

Social By Morgan-30a’s newest social media content creator for weddings.

We spoke with Morgan, Owner and Social Media Content Creator, to get more insight into her story and what started as a fun thing to do for a friend, turned into bookings worldwide.

What inspired you to start? M- “I never planned on becoming a wedding content creator if I am being completely transparent, but there are several experiences that have led me to where I am today! During my time as a 2023 bride, I was also working in marketing within the wedding industry. Most people, including myself, would try to avoid working on weekends at all costs, but this job was different. I found myself looking forward to every Saturday because that meant that there was another wedding happening. I fell in love with capturing all of the details and little moments that took place throughout the day before the guests even arrived. The florals, the first looks, the reception details… I loved it all. In January 2024, I was talking on the phone with one of my closest friends, Ally, whom of which is also a wedding vendor known as Allyson Corbin Photography. She was telling me about how she wanted to start posting more reels on her social media highlighting her client’s wedding photos, but wasn’t sure of an idea or how to make one. I had become pretty familiar with creating wedding-related reels and content from my previous marketing job, so I told her that if she sent me a few of the photos that she wanted to include, that I would create and send a video for her to approve. That’s one of the main moments that sparked Social By Morgan and I'll never forget it. Ally said, “Morgan, people would pay for this sort of thing. You should really should start offering content creation to brides and wedding vendors." Keep in mind, wedding content creation is still a very new thing and I wasn’t sure if there was a huge demand for it, which is why I was so hesitant to pursue what is now Social By Morgan. Honestly, if my friend, Ally, hadn’t of pushed me to go for it, I probably wouldn’t have. I truly owe a lot of my rapid success to her because ever since I first started Social By Morgan just a few months ago, she has consistently supported me by getting my name out to every bride and vendor she has come into contact with through her own photography business. Six months later, Social By Morgan has received an incredible amount of support with weddings booked in several states across the U.S. as well in Europe within 2024 and 2025. I am extremely grateful for the community that I have built within the wedding industry and all of the amazing opportunities that have been presented to me within such a short amount of time.”

What is one thing that sets you apart from your competition? M-"I believe that my experience working within the wedding industry prior to becoming a wedding content creator sets myself apart from the competition. I understand how chaotic a wedding day can be from a wedding vendor’s point of view, which is why I not only strive to create the best results for my client, but to also create the best experience for other wedding vendors working alongside me.”

What is your favorite wedding trend this year? M-"Hands down, the trend of yellow bridesmaid dresses. I am such a fan of all wedding-related things that are fun and non-traditional."

What made you choose this business? M-"In most cases when you become a bride, you suddenly become obsessed with all things wedding-related however, my passion for this industry actually grew from my previous work experience for a wedding vendor as well as from close friends of mine that were wedding vendors as well. I had always thought that the saying, “If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life” was a little exaggerated however, this business has proven me wrong. I wake up every day excited to do this “job”. There are many days where it’s not always easy, but the opportunities and the relationships that I have created within this industry have made it all worth it in the end."

What is your “Why?”: M-My husband and I will be celebrating our first anniversary in September of this year. Around this time is when all of the wedding memories and videos start resurfacing for us to relive. If I could go back in time to change just ONE thing about our wedding day, I 100% would have hired a wedding content creator to be added to our vendor team. Our professional photos and wedding video mean the absolute world to us both, but we also love re-watching the few, unfiltered clips that were taken by our friends that contain the original audio from those moments. This is exactly my “why”. As a recent 2023 bride, I know just how special the behind-the-scenes moments are to have captured, and to be able to relive and share with family and friends the very next day.

Name one time your business was rewarding? M-I feel extremely fortunate to be having a difficult time naming just one of the rewarding moments that I have experienced within my time as a wedding content creator. Every kind word that I have received from a bride or wedding vendor complimenting my work means the world to me. If I had to narrow it down to one rewarding moment that has stuck with me, it would be a message that I received from a mother-of-the-bride that said, “You were the perfect addition to our vendor team.” Out of all of the kind messages that I have received, this one comment has stuck me with me because that is actually what wedding content creation is meant to be…. an addition. Wedding content creation is not meant to replace a videographer, yet it is meant to be an unfiltered perspective of the wedding day highlighting the behind the scenes that are typically not captured. I love working alongside other vendors within the wedding industry and building a community!

What are some trends brides are wanting the most in 2024? M-In addition to general content coverage throughout the entirety of the wedding day, a lot of my brides request transition videos to a trending audio on TikTok or Instagram. Even if a bride gives me full, creative freedom on the day of their wedding, I always create a personalized list of content ideas based on each couple. I also like to incorporate details and audio from the wedding day that highlight the couple the most.

How did you come up with the name of your business? M-I chose a name that would stand out and highlight the face behind the brand. When a couple is interested in hiring Social By Morgan as their wedding content creator, I want them to have the opportunity to know who I am first. My goal is to create a relationship with each of my clients before their wedding day, so that I can deliver the best possible results based on their vision for wedding content creation!

What question do you wish people would ask you about your business, but they never do? M-I wish more people would ask what sets a wedding content creator apart from a bridesmaid or wedding guest taking videos on their wedding day. Anyone can hold an iPhone and snap a quick video, but investing in a wedding content creator is investing in hundreds of moments captured throughout your wedding day without fail… whether it be the laughs shared with your bridesmaids on wedding morning, a parent or grandparent soaking it all in from the front row as you’re about to walk down the aisle, every detail that you spent months (in some cases, years) planning, and that “oh my gosh we actually just got married” moment after saying “I Do”. A content creator’s job is to capture any and every unfiltered moment in-between for you to relive the next day!

How do you stay ahead of industry trends? M-Staying active on social media is always a good way to keep up with industry trends and innovations, but as a wedding vendor, I highly, highly suggest attending styled shoots and bridal events. Although these events typically do cost time and money between the entry fees and travel, I have grown my clientele and connections in a shorter amount of time by participating in these events than through social media alone. These opportunities have also allowed me to create new content of upcoming and current trends to share on my social media platforms.

In conclusion, hiring a social media content creator for your wedding can bring numerous benefits, ensuring your special day is beautifully documented and shared. Brides with an Instagram following can ensure that their audience is captivatated through story telling, following along for the day of festivities, and to feel like they are there sharing in your special moments.
